How embroidered patches are made
Embroidered patches are made by stitching coloured thread directly into a twill backing, building up your design layer by layer. The result has real texture and depth you can feel with your thumb, and colours that will not crack, peel or fade in the wash the way a print does. We can go up to 100% thread coverage, or leave the twill showing through for a cleaner, more classic look.

A merrowed border gives the classic raised rope edge. Laser cutting lets us follow complex outlines exactly.

Embroidered FAQ
How small can the text be?
As a rule, letters need to be at least 1/4 inch (6mm) tall to stitch cleanly. Below that the thread crowds and the letters fill in. If your artwork has fine text, we will tell you at the proof stage and suggest a size that works.
Will the colours fade?
No. The colour is in the thread itself, not printed on top, so it survives washing and sunlight far better than a printed transfer.
Can you match my exact brand colour?
Very closely. We match to the nearest thread in a range of over 200 colours. Send us a Pantone code and we will tell you the closest match before production.
